Spring Trips

2nd and 3rd grades - Rawhide Ranch, Bonsal, CA
Second and third grade students get a taste of the "Old West" while at Rawhide. Boys bunk in one of the circled covered wagons and girls bunk in the fort. They ride horses in the corral, learn how to care for ranch animals, and attend classes on pony showmanship, animal husbandry
and trick riding.

4th grade - Sacramento
Fourth graders take a three day tour bus trip to Sacramento where they visit the State Capitol, old governor's mansion, Old Town Sacramento, the town of Coloma (Sutter's Mill), and Sutter's Fort among other sites.  They then return home via a flight into John Wayne Airport.

5th grade - Catalina Island Marine Institute
Fifth grade students sail to Catalina Island for three days where they snorkel, hike in the surrounding hills, and attend indoor and outdoor classes on the animal and plant life that surround Catalina.

6th grade - Astro Camp
Sixth grade students trek to Astro Camp located outside the town of Idyllwild in the San Bernardino Mountains where they study the stars and constellations, shoot bottle rockets, make lunar landers, and study conditions in outer space for three days.

7th grade -  Missions Trip
The 7th grade spring trip is a 3 day service project which allows our students to serve and minister to those around us. Students are involved in a variety of service projects including: serving at a food shelter, collecting food and clothes to provide for the shelter, working at a horse ranch that ministers to foster children, cleaning the beach, and so much more. The trip also includes 2 nights of camping in tents, horse back riding, kayaking, and touring the Long Beach Aquarium. This trip is hosted by Family Excursions and parents are encouraged to help chaperone. This trip usually takes place in late April.

8th grade – Washington DC
Every year the 8th grade students take a week long trip to Washington D.C. to tour our nation’s capitol. In addition to all the sights and sounds in the DC area, the trip also includes visiting Gettysburg, going to a dinner theater, and touring Lancaster, Pennsylvania and eating dinner in an Amish home. Our trip is hosted by Family Excursions and usually takes place in late February to early March. There is no "drawing" for chaperones on this trip. One parent from each family is encouraged to chaperone the trip so long as there are enough seats on the bus. Chaperones are selected on a first come basis with those who have turned in their deposit.
